Oh! my Sailors

Well, I was bitten by the bug of buying some fantastic sailors and had ordered them from Japan.. I got them yesterday and man, are those beauties are worth the wait or what !!! For a big (yes, I am!!) person like me, I felt the pens were a tad small .. Of course, I have got used to TWSBI too :(… So, presenting new Sailors..

What’s new… What’s Cooking…

Yes.. Exactly.. What’s new.. What’s Cooking.. I can’t keep keep on adding new pens to my collection as it has a direct impact on my wallet… I am answerable to other shareholders @ home also :P.. So I decided to improvise

This week I decided to create something new.. Create  a new shade of ink… I mixed up Noodlers Dragon Napalm and Noodlers Borealis Black (20 ml: 8 ml approx.) and this is what was created..

Of course, there were a couple of Pen Additions..

1. Pilot Cocoon Titanium (M) Nib – Inked and sample above in the note

2. Ratnamson No. 302

3. Wality 69B Black Piston Filler.

The last 2 are courtesy of my good friend from Fountain Pen Network (FPN)/ FPGeeks, Mesu, who has a great collection of Ratnamson, Swarans, Guiders etc.. Do check out her collection

Mission Accomplished…

As the saying goes, “Third time lucky“.. I was trying to find out shop called Meenakshi Stores on Avenue Road, Bangalore about whom I had read quite a few reviews.. I had tried twice earlier and failed.. This time, I found the shop thanks to a lot of support from my friend on FPN, Mesu.

I made some nice purchases and increased my collection (Sigh!.. as if that’s news).. My new additions to the collection include Swarna Ebonite Pens (another Indian brand that’s popular), Scripter Pens, an Airmil Piston Filler and an Oliver Exam Piston filler. My new beauties are

I inked up 4 of them, some with Indian inks like Chelpark and Bril while some others with international brands like Private Reserve and Noodlers. The current set of inked pens are

Well.. after inking the pens up, can I hold back writing about the same.. So I wrote this note with the new pens..

The final verdict is, while I have to use some of the pens more, Swarna Pen is an instant hit.. It’s absolutely comfortable in hands, wonderfully amazing to write.. Baoer 8 horses is a wonderful pen…

Tell me, what you think of my new additions??.. Do drop in your thoughts..

Bedazzling Indian Pens

For a Fountain Pen lover, I think it is fair to say that India presents an unique opportunity to gift themselves a lot of pens which are highly cost-effective and absolutely wonderful. In the recent past after some reading, I was fascinated with the amount of history of each of these pens, the uniqueness of these pens and more importantly, the absolute adoration for these pens in US and other countries outside India.

So, I embarked on my journey to collect these masterpieces of my great country, India. Starting from Avenue Road in Bangalore to eBay, manufacturers to retailers, I had quite a fascinating journey and built some wonderful relationships along the way. And Oh! .. I did buy quite a few pens. The latest additions added an Indian tadka flavor to my existing collections. So, here’s presenting my Indian Collections
